I am an avid collector of vintage and antique labels and my collection mostly includes
sewing and perfume ephemera.
Recently I have become fascinated by antique and vintage pharmacy labels and the
bottles and packages they are stored in.

This was inspired by a recent ABC television program featuring a recreation of a Victorian pharmacy, making and dispensing cures for the local community.

The elaborate formulas and packaging were truly amazing.

Old and New

One of my favourite ways to relax was to spend time drawing with pencils, 

especially using animals and birds as subject matter.

After recently moving I discovered in long unopened boxes some of my old illustrations.

After scanning one of the drawings I have digitally collaged it onto an old piece of parchment paper, bringing it back to life again as a print.

Here is my little Blue Wren and the family, at Cafe Baudelaire.

French Mannequins

I have added two new French Mannequin designs to the Cafe Baudelaire print collection.

They would look beautiful in any French themed room or dressmakers studio.

The first one is an updated version of an old favourite.

I have given the Mannequin a gorgeous new, but shabby peacock tail bustle.

It is good to be busy, but my poor blog gets very neglected and I seem to have very little time to read my favourite bloggers news:( 

A Wedding to plan, house to renovate designs to create... and

I am happy though to announce that I  have signed a new licensing contract with a wonderful publisher in Germany, Korsch Verlag GmbH & Co.KG.

I will have note books, journals and a calendar produced with all my favourite designs!

I am also working on a book of verse for them, it is all very exciting.
