Holly Chandelier

Holly is a symbol of truth in heraldry.

Inspired by my purchase of a French cast iron air dryer for flowers from the lovely Rachael,
A Room For Everyone, and  her new shop Gidgi.

I have made a chandelier from Holly sprigs. 

It was rather a prickly task but the result is a very pretty decoration for the holidays.

A touch of romantic vintage lace for the Firelace Mantel

Many years ago, the French used lace as decoration over a Fireplace, mantle, 

shelf front or above a window. I particularly love the romantic look for a fireplace.

I bought this beautiful vintage mantel lace from a lovely etsy shop French Gypsy in France.

I love the way it fits perfectly on our sitting room fireplace mantel.

A little taste of Christmas, our theme, A Partridge in a pear tree

My  twigs of  blossom have kept beautifully all through Spring and so I thought they would make a wonderful twig Christmas tree decorated with golden pears and little beads.

This is a work in progress and I have a few more finishing touches yet to come....

A little glimpse of the kitchen mantel, I bought this amazing Fleur de Lis at a flea market stall
for just $5, it painted up beautifully to hang above the old brick fireplace.
